As if Turn your car into a mobile game console was not enough Tesla Soon, owners will be able to stream Netflix and YouTube videos directly to the multimedia screens on their vehicles. Anyway, that's the story of Elon Musk tweeting the news on Saturday.
Of course, video streaming will only be available when the car is parked, although Musk says that "if the regulators approve full self-drive, we will activate the video while driving". But do not hold your breath so fast.Ability to stream YouTube and Netflix when the car is no longer in your Tesla! With its comfortable seats and surround sound, it has a stunningly impressive cinematic feel.- e ^ 👁🥧 (@elonmusk) July 27, 2019
Interestingly, as Engadget stresses, Model 3 and upcoming Model Y. Owners are likely to have the best video experience in the car, as these vehicles use horizontally oriented screens. The Model S and the Model X, on the other hand, have vertically oriented screens. I think that's good if you want to watch these badly recorded videos in portrait style.
No detailed schedule for video streaming in the car was announced. Musk just said that the upgrade will come "soon". I admit that this sounds like unnecessary distraction if it's not used properly. But the thought of watching one or two YouTube videos while waiting to pick up a friend from the airport is pretty cool.
